How to choose a solar floodlight
Choose a solar floodlight by panel size, battery capacity, IP rating and realistic coverage, not by the largest watt number printed on the box. Inflated LED labels are common. For compounds, also decide between wall floodlights and pole-mounted street lights.
Checklist before you pay
Confirm IP65 or better for outdoor lamps, a separate panel when possible, and a seller who states warranty in writing. If the panel is tiny, the “300W” claim is marketing.
| Label class | Typical use | Approx. coverage guide |
|---|---|---|
| 100W class | Gate / small yard | ~10-15 m |
| 200W class | Medium compound | ~15-25 m |
| 300W class | Wider yard / brighter security | ~20-30 m |
